face the challenge of refereeing the sibling rivalry and petty bickering that
unfortunately comes with the territory of being a mother. So, imagine my
disappointment and frustration when I, along with the rest of this country were forced to endure a similar set of circumstances at the government level. Who else, besides me, wanted to shout, “Enough already, go to your rooms!” LOL! As ridiculous as this may sound, its not so far from the truth. And although the government shutdown is now over (Thank God), the long lasting impact that those 16 days will have on the economy is only just beginning. And guess what? Unfortunately, the hardworking people of this country, will be the ones who feel the brunt of this latest impasse and 9 times out of 10 it will be in the in the form of more layoffs.
colleagues have been laid off. Take it from someone who’s been there done that, for those of you who are now faced with being laid off, the best advice that I can give you is to don’t allow yourself to get stuck there! Don’t let your negative emotions take control of your ability to move forward. Let the rejection that you feel become the fuel that will catapult you to a new level of focus and determination. So instead of wallowing in despair, look at this time as a golden opportunity to re-discover and empower yourself to walk into the plan that God has purposed for your life. What better time to put your “Plan B” into action? Why do you need one? Simple, have a Plan B, because Plan A doesn’t always go well. We need to always be prepared for the possibility that things may not go according to plan. So if you don’t have a Plan B, GET ONE!
